This handwoven silk-blend rebozo was made on a traditional backstrap loom by artisans in Cuetzalan, Puebla and Oaxaca, Mexico — two regions with some of the deepest textile traditions in the country. The backstrap loom is an ancestral weaving technique that dates back thousands of years in Mesoamerica, and every thread of this rebozo was placed by hand, one pass at a time.
